What is the advantage of traveling with the Twisters?
You save money. You get to travel with fun people. You don’t have to worry about reservations and details.
Our club is a member of the Texas Ski Council — along with clubs across the state. Our total membership of about 5,000 people gives us the buying power for great discounts on lodging, lift tickets, and activities. A lot of singles like it because they are tired of traveling along and paying for single occupancy. For families it is great to have kids from other families coming along. AND, most important — the trip Captain takes care of everything. You arrive and are handed a packet of everything you need and need to know!!
How much does it cost to join?
$30 single membership, $45 for a couple, ADD $10 for each child.
The traveler must be a member to travel with the Twisters.
Do you have to ski to join?
Heck no. We have loads of people who have never been on the slopes. Go for fun, to sit in front of the fire, to shop, to sightsee, or to hang out. We also have many trips that do not involve snow. Check out our website for all the great trips.
Are all trips ski trips?
No. While our winter trips are primarily to Ski Country — we have summer trips and trips with no snow involved. We have had trips to 6 continents and numerous countries. They range from African safaris to tours of Ireland.
What about children?
The club is great for family trips. The kids get ski lessons, get to hang out and ski with other kids, and you have a whole club watching out for them. You never have to worry about family arguments. They are having too much fun.
Where do you go on your trips?
Everywhere – around the world
What is a trip Captain?
Each trip has a person in charge — the Captain — who gets the room rates, takes the deposits, makes the hotel reservations, get lift tickets, makes arrangements, and pays the bills. The trip captain gets a discount on the trip to compensate for all the hard work that goes into planning a trip.
Do I have to pay all at once for trips?
NO. We announce the trip way in advance, usually at the end of the sumer. There will be a cutoff date for a deposit, and then the Trip Captain gives the date that all money has to be in. Generally, you will have months to plan for the adventure.
Who can be a trip Captain?
Anybody in the club who wants to run a trip. If you have hotel contacts, resort contacts, know a place you want to go — you could be the next Captain.
